And tghere is opportunity for advancement if you do well. Your on the phone most of the day, which is definitely the worst part, but its the job!! Some supervisors are more helpful than others, but thats at any job. As long as you do what you are supposed to, and do it well, you will progress here. You can ask for help if your having trouble with the work and most will give it. And they will try to acoomodate you if you need a temporary shift change for whatever reason. And they are great with the pay and benefits. Maintenance Technician II in Buffalo, NY In the WNY area they are severely understaffed. Maint Techs are treated like garbage. Dept has been understaffed for 2 years. There is no way to get off an overnight shift as they are doing away with 1st and 2nd shift. You are on call every 3 weeks and you can be called out for anything. Used to be just outtages and critical field referrals. WIth the short staffing this dept suffers you can be called out for anything. They dont care about your personal life here.
